Many years ago, my husband and I travelled to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to witness a Plein Air event. To watch artists create beautiful paintings right there in front of me in the outdoors, truly inspired me. Not only did their artwork touch me, but the courage that they exhibited to put themselves out there for the world to see, left me in awe. I wished that I could be so brave. My husband, Tim, wanted to purchase a ring for me created by a local artisan and so I chose a ring that had the pattern of a Birch tree (which is one of the strongest woods), and a stone that signifies peace, and was engraved with the words "Just Try". So here I am, wearing my ring and Just Trying. My first solo art show is being held at the Fort Smith Library from May 15th through June 30th with the opening reception being May 21st from 2 to 4. I have 19 pastel paintings on display with 17 of those being done in Plein Air. I hope to meet you there and thanks for reading!
